Wondrous Yellowstone

I just returned from four days in Yellowstone. Yellowstone was her usual wondrous self. Although I’ve never gotten a good grizzly image, this trip I had great sessions every day with grizzlies. Black bears were so plentiful I was very selective which ones I photographed. Mike Coil and I hiked into Trout Lake twice to photograph a mother otter and her two pups as they swam, played and fished. I hiked into several water falls and hot springs I’ve always wanted to see but never had the chance. The wild flowers changed the color of the landscape. A black wolf fifty yards away was too camera shy but thrilling to see. Doe mule deer still had their spotted fawns with them while the buck’s velvet covered antlers are approaching full growth. It’s a beautiful world and Yellowstone National Park is right at the top!

Incoming owl

I waited for nearly nine hours for this owl to appear and when he finally did he put on a great show while hunting for voles and mice.
